DAYS after Derbyshire was officially declared in drought, Buxton Advertiser photographer Jason Chadwick captured these images on Saturday of millions of gallons of water overflowing the Derwent Dam in the Hope Valley.

The decision by the Environment Agency to declare drought was taken after the driest year on record in 2011, a second winter of below-average rainfall and only just over 40 per cent average rainfall in February and March.
