COUNCILLORS have voted to extend the Conservation Area in Hayfield.
At a meeting of High Peak Borough Council last Wednesday, members voted to extend the village’s conservation area to include Fairy Bank Road, Jumble and Cuckoos Nest, Chapel Road and Nut Farm and the River Sett.
The decision was taken after residents backed the recommended changes during a three-week consultation last summer.
A leaflet explaining the proposals was delivered to all households in the conservation area, on top of which the recommendations were published online.
Hard copies of the proposed boundary changes were available in Hayfield Library, Hayfield Parish Council offices, Glossop Library and Glossop Municipal Buildings.
The recommendations were shaped by a conservation area character appraisal commissioned by the council.
Conservation areas preserve and enhance the special character of an area.
