A full set of signed Manchester United figures and a book signed by Bobby Charlton are among the items to be auctioned off to raise money for a cancer charity.
New Mills resident Jane Weatherhead has organised the charity evening at The Hare and Hounds Pub, Low Leighton Road, New Mills, on Friday July 20 at 8pm.
The auction will be hosted by Tony Audenshaw (Emmerdale’s Bob Hope). On the night there will be a free buffet, raffles, an Elvis impersonator and the much anticipated auction which will include items for non-football fans including a massage experience from Pure Tonic, Champagne and a children’s photoshoot.
Jane has organised the night as a tribute to her brother Steve Weatherhead, who passed away a few months go, and who along with the rest of her family, was a devout Manchester United fan.
Jane said: “Steve was a fantastic person, a loving father, grandfather, son and brother. Whilst Steve was poorly with a brain tumour he raised a lot of money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation and the family are passionate about carrying on his legacy and raising as much as possible in his memory.”
