A HIGH Peak school has been recognised by an education minister for their year six SAT results.

The pupils from Taxal and Fernilee Primary School achieved a 100 per cent success rate in achieving level four in both English and Maths.

Victoria Keen, headteacher said: “Not many schools get this. We have had a very good two years culminating in getting this letter from Nick Gibbs MP congratulating us for our results.”

The school’s recent Ofsted inspection, which saw a good rating achieved, stated that the school continues to go from strength to strength.

Mrs Keen said the improvements were down to the hard work of staff and pupils. “We have done a lot of work on school improvement over the last three years.”

The current year six are hoping to continue the success in this years SAT tests.
