A BUXTON county councillor has pitched in to help a local school.
Cllr Robin Baldry donated £500 from his members community leadership scheme to the school to help towards the cost of camping equipment.
The school have been running camps for over 15 years and the money will help secure their future.
The school said: “We are very grateful to Councillor Baldry because of this kind donation. A lot of students will benefit from the new equipment we can buy.”
Cllr Baldry, who represents the Buxton west ward, said: “It is great to see the school are still taking the pupils to camps and outdoor activities such as this.
“I’ve always been a supporter of camps and the camping fraternity, such as the Scouts, so I’m pleased to see the school are doing such a good job and I’m happy to help them out with this donation towards camping equipment.”
