Head Boy Nick Leverton and Head Girl Katie Jones were among the notable A-level performers at New Mills School, both securing places at their respective universities of choice.
With a crop of A* and A grades, Nick will be heading to St Andrews, continuing an emerging family tradition, while Katie will be heading to Warwick to complete her studies in history.
All of the Church Lane school’s students who applied to university were delighted to secure places on their desired courses, the school reported.
Director of Sixth Form, Nick Munn, said he was “really pleased” with how pupils in the sixth-form had achieved.
“There were some really notable performances including Amy Sharp who will be going to the University of Leeds to pursue her interests in Thai studies, and Megan Roberts who will be heading to the University of Sheffield to read chemistry with a year in industry,” he continued.
New headteacher Debbie McGloin was also delighted with the achievements of her first cohort of sixth-formers at the school - having attained results that were “thoroughly deserved” - and wished them well for the future.
