College applauds A-level excellence

Students at Cheadle & Marple Sixth Form College are celebrating another record year in this year’s A Level and Advanced Vocational courses.

Christina Cassidy, Principal, said: “It is always a joy to see students achieve such wonderful results and we should never be reluctant to celebrate their success and applaud excellence.

Amongst the individual success stories was Rhiannon Jones, from Chinley, who has gained a coveted place at Manchester University to study Medicine. She achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and her Extended Project.

Ashley Mellor, from Hadfield, Glossop, achieved A* in Electronics and Environmental Science, and an A grade in Geography. He will study Agriculture, Conservation and Environment at Bangor University.
