KITCHEN staff at a High Peak school have been proving they really do have the recipe for success.
The catering team at New Mills Primary have scooped a gold award in Derbyshire County Council’s annual Primary Catering Service Quality Assurance awards.
And the team scored so well on the assessments for the gold award that they will now go forward for a platinum award, which only one school in the county can win.
Unit supervisor Sue Tideswell said: “I’m well chuffed but it is a team effort. I couldn’t have done it without the other girls.”
Headteacher Claire Whetsone said: “I’m really proud of all the kitchen staff. The support they offer the children is second to none and their meals are fantastic.”
Schools who have gone forward for the platinum award will now be subject to further assessments, including a spot check, before the winner is decided later in the year.
