Burbage Primary School has received a ‘good’ Ofsted report, two years after being told it ‘required improvement’.

The Cavendish Avenue school was last inspected in July, and its pupils were praised for their “outstanding behaviour which ensures great enthusiasm and focused learning”.

The previous inspection, in October 2012, judged that the Buxton primary was not yet a good school but was not inadequate.

Julie Ward, headteacher, said: “I am incredibly proud of the staff, pupils and whole school community for all the hard work and determination they have shown over the past 18 months.

“Burbage Primary School has now been recognised as a school working towards outstanding.”
