Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday, March 21, how Timothy Wood, 50, was found by police at the property on London Road, Buxton.

Prosecuting solicitor Rod Chapman said: “Police executed a search warrant at the property which was the home of other people but Mr Wood was present at the address.

“The other people concerned were suspected of being involved in the supply of drugs and they were arrested and Mr Wood was arrested and found to be in possession of crack cocaine.”

Wood, of Derby Road, Draycott, Derby, told police he had been at the address fixing a cooker hob cable and he said he had purchased £10 of crack cocaine and he said the drug was just for personal use.

The defendant, who has previous convictions including drug offences, pleaded guilty to possessing 0.12grammes of the class A drug crack cocaine.

Defence solicitor Robert Sowter said Wood made full admissions following his arrest and the only aggravating feature is his drug-related previous convictions but they are from some time ago and there are no ongoing drug issues.

Magistrates fined Wood £120 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
