Donation will add sparkle to Buxton’s lights

Have your say

Buxton Sparkles will be bringing more sparkle and fun to this year’s Buxton Christmas Lights Switch on event on November 23 thanks to funding from the Bingham Trust - which has given £450 towards the project.

It means that members of local community groups and schools will be creating wonderful new costumes and sculptures for use in the lantern procession and during the entire evening.

Lantern and sculpture workshops will also be held in and around the area nearer the time, allowing everyone in the community to get involved.

If anyone is interested in helping out at these workshops or wants to get involved in any way with Buxton Sparkles’ activities, they can e mail Andrea Lewis at

It can be a spare hour or a spare day. Every little helps and brings the community closer, she said.
