Glossopdale Furniture Project has teamed up with Derbyshire County Council and Advantage Waste Brokers to hold a household electrical collection event, on Saturday October 20, from 9.30am to 3pm, at Tesco, Whaley Bridge.
Take along any old, but working, white goods like washing machines, fridges, freezers and microwaves, or smaller items such as hairdryers, CD players and kettles.
Joan Cook, manager from Glossopdale Furniture Project, said: “As we are a charity we rely on the goodwill and donations of the public in order to keep running. We provide a service that helps people furnish their homes on a tight budget.”
The project’s staff will test all donated appliances before selling them on to low income households meaning that old items will get a whole new lease of life.
You also have the chance to enter into a prize draw to win £50 of shopping vouchers if you donate your electrical items.
