THE Olympics may be happening in London, but people in Buxton are being given the chance to get involved in the celebrations.
Young people and adults are being given the opportunity to perform when the Olympic Torch travels through Buxton on Friday, June 29.
Derbyshire County Council is inviting people to learn a simple, fun group dance called The Line, which is performed by dancers standing in a line following the person in front.
The event is free and anyone aged 11 and over is invited to get involved. Participants must be able to attend all four sessions to learn The Line. They will be held at the Palace Hotel, Buxton today (Thursday), June 14, 21 and 28 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
On June 29, everyone will meet to perform The Line in the grounds of the Palace Hotel just before the Olympic Torch passes by.
Applicants can register at the first session today (11 to 13-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult to register).
