TWO motorists are set to receive warning letters about their speed after recent checks by Community Speed Watch volunteers in Bradwell.
They spent an hour with the Hathersage Area Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team (SNT) on Thursday, February 9 on Church Street.
The initiative has been running for almost two years in the area thanks to initial funding from the Safer Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership after local residents said they were concerned about speeding traffic.
Signs are put up to advise motorists about the checks and anyone travelling above the speed limit is sent a letter to inform them about their speed and asking them to respect local limits.
They are also warned that if they continue to speed, they risk getting a fine and that the data recorded by the scheme will help officers identify locations for speed detection equipment.
