Thousands of pounds of cigarettes stolen after thieves smash way into New Mills shop

Thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes have been stolen from a New Mills shop after thieves smashed through the side of the building.

The break-in, at Local 4U on Albion Road, occurred between 11pm last night (Thursday) and 6am this morning (Friday).

Offenders smashed a hole in the side of the building, gaining access to the stockroom where they stole a large number of cigarettes and a large amount of cash.
