Teen assaulted during street robbery

Detectives investigating a street robbery in Glossop are appealing for witnesses.

A 17-year-old boy was approached by a man while walking along North Road at 10.30pm on Thursday and asked to hand over his phone. When the teenager refused, he was punched in the stomach and the phone knocked from his hand.

The youth retaliated and punched the man in the mouth and then ran away.

The man was described as white, 5ft 11ins tall and wearing a black-hooded jacket with the hood worn up over a black cap.
