Purses stolen from Buxton Leisure Centre

A purse containing cash and a bank card was stolen from a locker at Buxton Leisure Centre.

The theft took place between 3.30pm and 4.20pm on Saturday, April 25.

The purse was later found at the premises on St Johns Road in Buxton; however the cash had been taken.

On Monday, April 20, between 4.50pm and 6.15pm, a purse containing cash, a driving licence and bank card was stolen from the same site.

PCSO Alan Nield, from the Buxton Town Safer Neighbourhoo,d Team said: “We are asking people to be mindful of their security when they are out using public facilities to prevent their property from being stolen.

“Always ensure that you have the correct change to use the lockable locker facilities so that your property can be safely stored whilst you are enjoying the leisure activities.

“Be vigilant and if you see anyone acting suspiciously then contact police and report it to staff on site.”
