Victims and witnesses of antisocial behaviour, domestic abuse, sexual assault and hate crime are being asked to take part in a national project to raise awareness of the issues they face.
Kate Dawe, Victims’ Services Advocate for Derbyshire, would like to hear from those who have been the victim of crime in the last two years and are not currently involved in criminal justice proceedings.
Kate said: “We want to find out how people have been treated as a victim or witness by the police and criminal justice system and if they have found suitable services to support them through a difficult time in their lives”.
A report produced will help ensure that the new police and crime commissioner have victim and witness issues on their agenda when they are elected in November 2012.
