Lashing out at police who were arresting him proved costly for one Buxton man when he appeared before High Peak magistrates on Monday.
Police had been called because of an incident between Robert Colin Lowe, 24, and his girlfriend, prosecutor Jennifer Fitzgerald told the court.
When police tried to use handcuffs on Lowe, of Monsal Avenue, he started to resist officers, during the incident, which happened on September 11.
“At that stage the defendant was extremely aggressive and resisted violently,” said Ms Fitzgerald. The court heard that Lowe kicked out at the officer. He later made threats and continued to be abusive. Lowe, who was not represented, pleaded guilty to resisting police. He had nothing to say about the incident. He was fined £370, ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
