St. George’s C.E. Primary School, in New Mills, has been awarded a grant of £9,621.30 from Awards for All.

The Church Lane school intend to spend the funds on installing two new timber trim trails for the children to play on, one in each playground.

Head teacher, Mandy Brown, said the investment would enable all 127 pupils at the school, including the 18 in the nursery and children from Play New Mills and New Mills Children’s Centre stay and play group, to access quality play equipment in a secure and inviting environment.

Mrs Brown, who was appointed two weeks ago, added that it was a perfect start to her new role.

Awards for All is a lottery grants programme that funds small, community-based projects across the UK.
