Large amount of jewellery stolen from New Mills house

Burglars have stolen a large amount of jewellery and wristwatches from a house in New Mills.

The offenders smashed the glass in a door at a house in High Lea Road between 9.15am and 5pm on Thursday, November 26.

A number of jewellery items were stolen, including three curb link chains, a diamond cluster ring, and 15 gold and silver signet rings.

The burglars also took several ladies’ wristwatches from the address.

Police investigating the offence want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area between those times.

They are also urging people to be vigilant and make sure their houses are secure at day and night.
