Hi-tech cash scam

NEW Mills police are investigating after a skimming device was found on an ATM machine.

Just after 11.45am on Thursday, October 6, staff noticed the cash machine outside the Co-op store, on Church Road, had been tampered with.

Skimming involves attaching devices to ATMs to siphon off cash before it can reach the external cash tray or to clone cards.

Anyone who noticed anything unusual about that machine, on either Wednesday, October 5 or Thursday, October, 6 should contact Derbyshire police on 0345 123 33 33 with crime reference number 52238/11 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
