Five people charged after Glossop assault

Five people have been charged in connection with an assault on two men in Glossop on Saturday night.

Police say the incident happened at around 8pm on the junction of Henry Street and Norfolk Street, when several people were allegedly involved in a disturbance.

A 29-year-old local man sustained serious injuries and is being treated at Salford Royal Hospital. A 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

Anthony O’Neill, 18, of Salisbury Street, Hadfield, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He appeared at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court this morning when he was remanded in custody. He will appear at Derby Crown Court on September 15.

Alan O’Neill, 48, of Salisbury Street, Hadfield, has been charged with assisting an offender and has been bailed to appear at High Peak Magistrates’ Court on September 15.

Carmel O’Neill, 40, of Hadfield Road, Hadfield, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assisting an offender and has been bailed to appear at High Peak Magistrates’ Court on September 15.

A 17-year-old youth from Hadfield has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has also been bailed to appear at High Peak Magistrates’ Court on September 15.

Aaron Daniels, 41, of Cottage Lane, Glossop has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been bailed to appear at High Peak Magistrates’ Court on September 15.
