Five charged over Glossop assault

Two men, two women and a teenager have been committed to crown court in relation to a serious assault in Glossop on August 30.

Aaron Daniels, 41, of Cottage Lane, Glossop, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to John Wrigley Junior and actual bodily harm to John Wrigley Senior.

Alan, 48, and Carmel O’Neill, 40, of Hadfield Road, Hadfield, were charged with assisting an offender, namely Anthony O’Neill.

Miss O’Neill was also accused of causing grievous bodily harm to John Wrigley Junior.

Abigail Daniels, 23, of Woolley Bridge Road, Hadfield, was also charged with assisting Anthony O’Neill and perverting the course of justice.

The youth, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, denied causing grievous bodily harm to John Wrigley Junior and actual bodily harm to John Wrigley Senior.

All five will appear at Derby Crown Court on September 29 for a plea and case management hearing.

At High Peak Magistrates Court on Monday, all were released on conditional bail, made subject to curfews from 7pm to 6am, and banned from entering licensed premises or contacting the victims.
