A BUXTON-based community theatre group has been given a boost thanks to a local councillor.

Derbyshire County Councillor Robin Baldry, who represents the Buxton west ward, has donated £300 from his members community leadership scheme to PB Theatricals.

The money will be used by the group to help towards new costumes and new costume racks and accessories.

Cllr Baldry said: “It is always a pleasure to help local organisations and I was thrilled to be able to present this donation to PB Theatricals.

“A large number of young people are among those involved in the group and it is great to see them learn new skills which are not only useful for their future development, but which could also lead to careers in the arts and entertainment.”
