A new scheme is aiming to help High Peak residents onto the housing ladder.

High Peak Borough Council has secured seven properties on the new Beckets Brow development in Chapel-en-le-Frith for sale at a discounted market rate.

Three of the properties are due for completion next month, and the authority is seeking applications from people interested in purchasing one of the three-bedroomed homes.

Cllr Julie McCabe, executive councillor with responsibility for housing, said: “These new houses are being built to a high specification and the discounted prices will open up the benefits of home ownership to more people.”

Applicants must be ordinarily resident within the Central Area of High Peak for a minimum of five years, be employed in the area or be able to demonstrate a local connection or family association.

To apply and for more details, visit www.highpeak.gov.uk. The closing date is Friday July 17.
