LONGNOR’S newly-refurbished community fire station throws open its doors to the public for the first time tomorrow (Tuesday).

A drop-in session for the community is being held on August 9, from 3pm to 6pm, when visitors can take part in a tour of the station and find out more about the fire and rescue service. No booking is required.

Station Manager Glynn Luznyj said: “The firefighters have settled into their newly-refurbished station and we now look forward to welcoming in the community and showing them the new facilities.

“We’re really pleased with the improvements and we hope they will be as impressed as we are.”

Partners and community groups can book the new facility, which seats up to 15 people, by emailing northerncommunityrooms@staffordshirefire.gov.uk. or by ringing 01785 898897.
