COLUMN: Volunteers are needed at High Peak charity

We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.

We are a registered charity and over the past year we have helped over 2,200 local people who approached us with a wide variety of different problems. These range from employment, housing, debt, benefits to relationship issues.

We are based in the heart of Buxton are staffed by a team of trained volunteers and experienced supervisors.

We need your help and are looking for volunteers who can help us with our reception on Thursdays.

This is a really crucial role and you would be greeting clients and other visitors, answering the phone, ensuring clients know what is happening and how long they have to wait, explain the services available, print out leaflets, maintain the reception area and enter information on to a computer.

It’s not just about helping our clients - volunteering can bring many benefits to volunteers themselves… this is what a few of the people in our team say…
