Whaley Bridge is holding its first Christmas Tree Festival this weekend.
The event, at Holy Trinity Church, is taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will see dozens of decorated trees sponsored by local businesses and organisations lighting up the church.
On Friday from 6.30pm onwards, children from Taxal and Fernilee primary and Kettleshulme St James will perform at the opening event.
Visitors can view the trees on Saturday from 10am -4pm and on Sunday from noon-4pm (admission £1).
Profits from the event will go towards funding the free copies of the parish magazine, which are available to the public at several outlets.
The church will also make a contribution to another charity.
