FIRE crews from Glossop, Buxton and Chapel were called to the scene of a chemical spillage last night (Tuesday).
Emergency decontamination measures were put in place to try and prevent the chemicals from entering the watercourses and drains, on Talbot Road in Glossop.
The driver of the Mercedes Sprinter van, that had been carrying the three containers, was treated for inhalation of the chemicals.
The alarm had been raised at 4.46pm with firefighters remaining at the scene until 8pm.
The Environment Agency have been informed of the incident.
