GENEROUS High Peak residents raised their cups in celebration of Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Gatherings were held in communities in and around the borough recently as part of the charity’s biggest fundraising event.
A whopping £3,000 was raised on the day during a coffee morning at the Chelmorton Institute, to add to the £6,000 collected in advance through raffle ticket sales, bucket collections and donations.
Organiser Carol Allcock said: “It was a very, very busy day, and I think more people then ever before came along and supported us.
“We are very grateful to everyone who came along and supported us.”
Pupils in years three and four at Monyash Primary School invited the entire village to their coffee morning, serving guests with cakes and drinks.
A spokesperson said: “The children were a real credit to the school and raised £182.52 for a very worthwhile cause.”
