Chase victim is urged to come forward

POLICE are appealing to a man who was chased down a street in Harpur Hill, Buxton last week to come forward.

On November 9 at 11.20pm police were alerted that a man with mental health issues had left his home and there was concern for his safety. Shortly afterwards he was seen by officers outside Harpur Hill club but ran off down Burlow Avenue. As he ran from the officers he followed a member of the public and chased him down the road.

Within two minutes officers detained the missing man who was later taken to hospital in Stockport.

Police are trying to trace the man who was pursued on Burlow Avenue and have asked him to contact them on the new non-emergency number 101.

l Police are appealing for information after a burglary in Chinley where around 80 tools were stolen.

Hand and power tools and electrician’s equipment was stolen from three temporary buildings at a construction site at Peak School, Buxton Road sometime between October 18 and October 19. Two cameras were also stolen.
