A group of Chapel-en-le-Frith women have been creating tiny knitwear for “fish and chip babies”, as part of charity project Knit for Africa.

Knitwits, who meet at bookshop Reading Matters, on Market Street, every fortnight, have been knitting hats and cardigans for Greenfields Africa who distribute them to poverty-stricken newborns, so they don’t have to go home from the hospital wrapped in newspaper.
