Two men who are to appear on the BBC’s Pointless quiz show say filming the programme was a ‘tremendous experience’.

Retired police officer Martin Mullis, 59, of Netherfield Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith, and Nick Bostin, 67, of Church Lane, also in Chapel, will appear on BBC One on Monday at 5.15pm.

The programme is one of the most popular daytime quiz programmes on television and is presented in inimitable style by hosts Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman.

Martin, who currently volunteers for the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, said: “We wrote off to apply in February 2013 and the show was recorded the following May so it’s been a long time coming.

“We thought we could make quite a good fist of it but I can’t tell you how we did as it wouldn’t be fair.

“But I can say we got to give some Chapel organisations quite a few good mentions, which was really nice.”

“The main worry for me now is how we look on television!”
