A cheque for over £2,000, raised by Chapel-en-le-Frith Male Voice Choir at a recent concert at Hassop Hall, has been presented to Help for Heroes.

The hall provided a suitable venue for a concert that was themed on a celebration of the work of the armed forces around the globe.

Songs such as the Dambusters March, Rose of England, Stout Hearted Men and the Soldiers Chorus from Faust received a rousing reception from a sell-out audience.

Tony Cowley, Regional Organiser for Help for Heroes, said: “I would like to thank all who took part in the event, and who attended and donated on the evening, raising a fantastic amount of money.”
