Public-minded residents are being offered the chance to influence life in High Peak by having their say on what’s important to them.
‘ViewPoint High Peak’ is a panel of 1,000 local people from all backgrounds and all areas of the borough who monitor council services and share their views about what matters to them.
The panel was set up in 2001 by High Peak Borough Council and partners Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Police. It is refreshed each year to enable more residents to take part.
Councillor Caitlin Bisknell, Leader of High Peak Borough Council, said: “The council exists to provide services to communities in the High Peak and it’s essential that we know what people think of these services in order to ensure they remain relevant and appropriate and meet local needs.
“The Citizens’ Panel is just one of the ways that we listen to residents and I’d encourage anyone who is interested to get involved and help to shape life in the borough.”
Panel members are asked to answer around four questionnaires per year on a variety of topics including crime and safety, quality of life and leisure.
Anyone wishing to join the panel can fill in a form on the council’s website www.highpeak.gov.uk, email email@example.com or call 0845 129 7777.
