CELEBRATIONS to mark 60 years of well dressing in Wormhill continue this weekend.

The blessing of the Brindley Memorial Well, and the children’s well at St Margaret’s Church, took place last weekend.

Events continue tomorrow (Friday) with a children’s party taking place in a marquee behind the Village Hall. Tickets, priced £2, are available from Julie Knox at Hargate Hall, or call 01298 872591.

Then on Saturday, an anniversary party, The Wormhill Stomp, will be held, again in the marquee behind the Village Hall, from 7pm until late.

There will be music from live bands The ReEntrants and Turtle Zeds, a disco and a hog roast. Tickets, priced £7 in advance or £10 on the door, are available from Anthony Knox at Hargate Hall, or call 01298 872591.

Well dressing has been celebrated every year since 1951, with the exception of 2001 because of the Foot and Mouth crisis.
