The festivities will be in full swing this weekend as a town prepares to party at the annual carnival.
Glossop Carnival will be held this Saturday and Sunday on Glossop’s Manor Park, organised by Glossop Arts and Leisure Association and sponsored by High Peak Borough Council.
High Peak mayor Tony Kemp will officially open the event at a ceremony at noon on Saturday, there will then be performances from Medieval jousters, Dynamite Dance and a swing band throughout the day, as well as the RSPCA dog show and children’s entertainment from the Paper Wizard.
The following day the jousters will once again be wowing the crowds, followed by Centre Stage dancers and Arnfield Brass. There will also be a vintage car show and duck race.
