Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s Superman, and Batman and Buzz Lightyear.

A new family event is heading to Bakewell Showground this spring.

The superhero weekend will be flying in on Saturday, April 30 until Sunday, May 1 for the bank holiday.

Organiser Rob Doosan said: “This is the first time in Bakewell and what a beautiful location to hold a family fun day.”

During the course of the weekend thousands will take part in the UK’s largest Easter egg hunt.

There will also be funfairs and bouncy castles to keep the little superheroes entertained.

Rob said: “Family time is very important and we want to create opportunities for people to make happy memories with their loved ones.

“Dressing up is actively encouraged and we want to see your best costumes.”

Throughout the weekend there will be superheroes mascots walking around and plenty of photo opportunities.

Organised through Sport Active UK, the event is aimed at families with prices reflecting this, £5 per child and adults and under-twos are free. Price includes egg hunt and disco.
