Campaigner joins others in plea to end world poverty

A Birch Vale resident is travelling to London to support a campaign for the Government to tackle world hunger and tax dodging at the G8 Summit.

Jo–Anne Witcombe will represent Oxfam at the Big IF London, in Hyde Park, this Saturday.

She said: “I wanted to join Oxfam because I am passionately committed to Oxfam and to doing my part as an individual to end poverty. I grew up in India and I remember feeling shocked at the disparity between my family’s lives and other people’s.”
