A NEW Special Constable will be patrolling Buxton’s streets after being sworn in at a recent ceremony.
Callum Harris, 19, was one of nine new volunteers sworn in last week.
The group began an intensive training course in August that ran over two weeks and six weekends, studying various aspects of policing including crime scenes, road traffic collisions, statement taking and first aid.
Assistant Chief Constable Dee Collins said: “It was an extremely proud day for those involved as well as the specials’ family and friends. Being a special is a very rewarding, fulfilling and interesting role where each individual can make a genuine difference to the lives of people in our communities.”
