There will be a candle lit vigil today to allow the people of the High Peak to pay their respects to the victims killed or injured in the Manchester attack on Monday.

The informal vigil is nondenominational and everyone is welcome at the bottom of The Slopes today, Thursday, at 6.30pm.

Organiser Ruth Eyre said: “We are so close to Manchester and I think people need to come together at time like this.

“We will stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with Manchester and let people in the High Peak have an outlet for their love and grief.”
The service will see people lighting candles, and Ruth would like music to fill the town so is asking for anyone with an acoustic guitar to come along.
