On the evening of November 25, Buxton’s St Thomas More School hosted a social evening to celebrate all that is British, and commemorate 70 years since the end of the Second World War.

Pupils, parents and other members of the community were invited to enjoy a medley of nostalgic songs performed by the school orchestra and choir, St. Anne’s Choir and Burbage Band. The entertainment provided several changes of mood during the evening, from ‘delightful’ performances of music and poetry by solo performers, to the rousing volume of the Burbage Band and the exuberance of St. Anne’s Choir.

At the interval, a tasty hot-pot was served courtesy of Derbyshire Catering Service. All money raised during the evening will go to ‘Help for Heroes’.
