Buxton’s town hall showed its solidarity with the no campaign this week ahead of the Scottish independence referendum today (Thursday).

The Leader of High Peak Borough Council, Councillor Caitlin Bisknell, said: “Like many councils across England, including Derbyshire County Council and Tameside Council, and No 10 Downing Street, High Peak Borough Council is flying the Saltire to send a message to Scotland: stay with us, we are a better and stronger country when united.

“Whatever the outcome of the Scottish vote on Thursday, it will have a big impact on the rest of the UK in the future. I sincerely hope that Scotland does vote to stay as part of the UK - and that further devolution, not just to Scotland but England and Wales too will follow.”
