Residents are being invited to get in the swing for a charity barn dance in Buxton this weekend.

High Peak Mayor Cllr Alan Barrow and mayoress Susan Barrow will be hosting the event in the restaurant at the Pavilion Gardens on Saturday, starting with a drinks reception at 7pm and followed by a two-course dinner at 7.30pm and then dancing.

Musical entertainment will be provided by popular classical music trio Swing Persuasion, performing everything from Led Zeppelin to Postman Pat.

Cllr Barrow said: “It promises to be a memorable evening which will benefit this year’s mayoral charities, which are Blythe House and Kinder Mountain Rescue.

“I hope people will join us on the night and help raise funds for what I’m sure they will agree are worthwhile local causes.”

Tickets cost £20 and the dress code for the evening is smart casual.
