Buxton-born Lydia Grace is one of 11 finalists in leading fashion e-tailer boohoo.com’s search for its new brand ambassador.
The firm is looking for ‘real women’, and the 22-year-old won trough to the this Friday’s final in Manchester after impressing the panel of celebrities who included Coronation Street’s Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) and Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw), who were joined by X-Factor’s new style-queen Mischa B
Lydia, whose style icon is Vivienne Westwood, thinks British women shouldn’t look at sizes but just go with what suits their shape.
“Models you see in magazines are all tiny,” she said.
“I’m a size 12-14 and I dress to suit my shape. I wear what makes me feel good. I think there is a need in the industry for someone like me, confident and curvy showing that everyone is beautiful in their own way.”
Lydia Grace has been interested in fashion from a really young age, sat with her mum who used to design dresses as a child.
She studied textile design at university and now designs and makes her own fashion jewellery.
Her ultimate aim is to be a stylist and she think she can make it as boohoo.com’s real women competition;
