Developers Persimmon Homes have applied for permission to build 32 houses on land off Macclesfield Old Road in Buxton.

The application for a proposed residential development, access, landscaping and associated works has been submitted to High Peak Borough Council and will be considered by the authority’s Development Control Committee at a future meeting.

In a planning statement submitted as part of the application, the company said: “The site currently comprises a large detached residential building and several outbuildings.

“The external areas of the site are dominated by a mixture of gardens and overgrown areas with scrub and several mature trees. There is also an area of hard standing adjacent to the house for vehicle parking and the storage of rubble.”

On the site, the company is proposing ten affordable homes; seven rented and three intermediate which will be delivered in partnership with an affordable housing provider.
