The Commonwealth flag is flying in Buxton this week as part of a worldwide celebration.

The flag was raised near the bandstand in the Pavilion Gardens on Monday to mark Commonwealth Day.

High Peak Mayor George Wharmby read out the Commonwealth Affirmation, while prayers were led by The Rector of Buxton, John Hudghton, in his final civic engagement of his ministry here. Numerous community representatives were also in attendance.
