BUXTON band The Stand are calling on High Peak residents to support them in their bid to secure a spot at this year’s Y Not Festival.

The Stand are one of ten bands battling it out for a spot at the festival, which takes place at Pikehall near Matlock in August.

The band with the most votes will win the coveted spot. To cast your vote, visit the Y Not Festival page on Facebook or The Stand’s Facebook page.

Voting remains open for only a very short time.

The four-piece, consisting of Jon Stone, Charlie Willcox, Ged Potts and Mark Whibberley, have already received nearly 1,000 votes.

Jon said: “Performing at the Y Not Festival would give us the chance that we deserve. It would be a great opportunity.

“We have already had a huge response, and a massive thank-you to everyone who have already voted for us.”

Added Charlie: “Playing at our local festival, just down the road from Buxton, would be an amazing experience.”
