Derbyshire farmer Michael Seals has been appointed to the chairmanship of the newly-formed Animal Health and Welfare Board for England.

Mr Seals runs a family-owned livestock and arable farm at Sutton On The Hill in Ashbourne.

Country Landowners Association East Midlands director Andrew Shirley said: “His chairmanship of the National Fallen Stock Company and the National Register of Sprayer Operators make Michael ideal for this vital job.”
